Open Space: MadeinTYO & 24hrs
Hip hop has always been a family-based culture, with many MCs citing their fathers and uncles as early inspirations in their careers. Every now and then we see two brothers who come together to make music, with the now-disbanded duo The Clipse being the most recognizable. Now Atlanta brothers MadeinTYO and 24hrs are continuing the tradition, but doing so in a somewhat different manner. Working separately at first, MadeinTYO would occasionally collaborate on his older brother’s mixtapes back when he was known as Royce Rizzy. The two eventually came together to launch their own label, Private Club Records, in the spirit of the self-contained collectives in their network.
